The Centre for Philippine Concerns-Australia's National Coordinator, Melba Marginson, was appointed in August 2000 to a four-year term as a Commissioner of the Victorian Multicultural Commission.
Melba has a strong commitment to community services, not just for the Filipino community, but also for the different ethnic communities at large. She works as a Settlement Planner at the Inner Western region Migrant Resource Centre in Footscray, Melbourne.
"I'm afraid that the Filipino community is losing out, because there are many needs especially of the aging population, the youth, and women," she stressed.
