PCIJ celebrates its 20th Year
and mourns the passing of a dear friend and colleague

Daily PCIJ

The Philippine Center for Investigative Journalism was founded in 1989 by nine Filipino journalists who realized, from their years on the beat and at the news desk, the need for newspapers and broadcast agencies to go beyond day-to-day reportage.

In the 20 years since its founding, PCIJ has produced over 500 investigative reports and other stories in major Philippine newspapers and magazines, produced five full-length documentaries, and launched over two dozen books and video documentaries.

2009 also saw the passing of Alecks Pabico. Alecks had spent the last fifteen years working with the Center, for the past decade as its Multimedia Director.
