Asian Regional Initiative Against Trafficking of Women and Girls

The Philippines and the US Government will be co—hosting a meeting in Manila, 29—31 March 2000, entitled the Asian Regional Initiative Against the Trafficking of Women and Girls (ARIAT).

The meeting will be attended by government officials and representatives from intergovernmental and non–government organisations. The meeting is intended to be a practical workshop to develop a regional action plan to reduce the trafficking of women and children. ECPAT Australia is one of two Australian NGOs to be invited to attend ARIAT.
